About a Werewolf

[James eyes the house with interest as he approaches the door. It's certainly an improvement on the Shrieking Shack and he vows Remus is going to do even better than this house. He knocks on the door hoping against hope that George is out and can't shoot his plan down]

[Mitchell is a little surprised when someone knocks on the door. With George out at the market and Annie disappeared to god-only-knows-where a few weeks before, he definitely isn't expecting anyone home for hours. Opening the door, he sees a lanky, messy-haired boy on his step.] Can I help you?

I'm here to help you [he holds out his hand] I'm James, Remus' friend and I understand you've got a werewolf who won't come out of his cage on the full moon

[Mitchell gives him an odd look.] Yes, I do have to say I have a bit of a werewolf problem. Come in. [He steps aside to let James in]

[James comes in and drops into the first seat] Thanks. I'm sorry I haven't come to offer before, but I couldn't leave Remus until I was the potion was working and I was sure Padfoot and Moony could play safely without a stag hanging around

[Mitchell tries to remember what the other two had told him about the stag] You're... Prongs?

[James grins] that would be me. I'm big enough to handle George out of a cage. I just need somewhere indoors with a little more space than this house

He wouldn't change in the house again anyways, [Mitchell shakes his head] but he found a warehouse that looks good that he was going to try out this month.

That sounds perfect [James smiles] well in theory. Where is it, to take a look at it?

[James nods] Please, I need to make sure it's completely secure myself. I don't want to be worrying about an escape and a chase to bring him back in when Prongs is making the introduction]

Come on, then. [Mitchell grabs his coat and opens the door.] I think this will be good for him.

It will be, you should have seen the change in Moony...he stopped trying to hurt himself with company and got more and more playful as he could run and play [James follows him out]. Sorry if I sound condescending or anything but I've been at this and researching for years

No, it's brilliant. [Mitchell looks at him gratefully] George is still new at this, and I don't have his problems, so I don't really know how I can help him.

I can toss you some of the books if you want.they are useful when you cut through the drivel. [he grins] even for George's werewolf. It's like they are two different breeds of werewolf

Interesting, [Mitchell remarks curiously] I wonder if the length of time they've had the bite or their own outlook on it affects it.

[James considers it] I'll be able to tell you more after I've kept George company for the night but I do know how Remus feels on the day does have some effect on Moony's mood. Moony loves company but [he shrugs] the wolf is still some thing different to Remus, not like how Prongs is me

The wolf is part of him, but he isn't the wolf. [Mitchell understands after more than two years with George]

The wolf is in his body [James is careful to make the distinction] I just can't subscribe to the idea its the dark side of them in the wolf. No one's that dark [he looks up Mitchell] same goes for vampires, the hunger that isn't yours drives you to things you might not want to do

[Mitchell claps a hand on James' shoulder.] You've got a lot of insight for being just a kid. You'll do good.

[James grins] thanks but really Remus made it easy to think like that [he eyes up the warehouse as they approach it] it looks promising

The lock is good, [Mitchell adds,] and there's no windows or anything that are low enough to get out of.

I'll add some protections to the permiters [James says and opens the door, he eyes the place over] it's not a bad playground. [he transfered unabashedly into Prongs to give the place a thorough search over]

Alright. [Mitchell watches him curiously, absolutely fascinated the young man can turn into an animal at will.]

[once satisfied Prongs becomes James again and he takes his wand out to blunt a few surfaces and do the protection charms] I don't want him getting unnecesary cuts [he pauses] I'll be waiting in here as Prongs when you bring George in. I want to see the transformation and it will helpe settle the wolf if he can smell me from the get go
