Night time

[maraudings]

[James is sprawled over the sofa, with the map of the Nexus on his stomach. He's just completed the last of the tracer spells so it's ready to show off. He's fallen asleep.

Behind James a new door has opened in the wall. He's magically expanded the flat again and the door has a sign on it saying Moony's Den. The room is completely blank apart from a framed photo of the three of them, a stack of cds ranging through the decades and cd player.

James twitches in his sleep. Uneasy in his dreams, chasing a shadow that won't let him near his friends. The shadow turns to him and starts to envelop him until he can no longer see them. He cries out]

[Remus folds his arms carefully over James’ shoulders. Despite the guitar playing, he’s worried about how tired his friend seems.] You can go back to sleep if you want, I don’t mind. [Remembering the subject matter of James’ earlier nightmare, he adds quietly - ] I’ll stay with you.

So am I. [Remus smiles down at him. This is quite unusual - it's very strange for him to feel taller than James.] But the whole exhaustion thing really is getting out of hand.

[James laughs quietly, he's oddly enjoying being held like this] It won't happen again any time soon unless you have more maps for me?

No, no more Maps! Well, not unless we get sucked into yet another alternate universe, in which case you'd better teach me the damned tracer so I can help you.

[Laughs and stops bowing.] You are loved. You don't need me to tell you that one.

Yeah, I know. [Remus smiles at him.] Perk of Marauder membership, isn't it?

Yeah, I'd put it somewhere on our membership card but it's too sappy and we don't have a card

That would be a slight problem, yeah. S'all right, that can just be one of the parts of membership that no one gets to know about. Which is true for most of it to be fair.
